ESMI is the leading Irish accredited training organisation with the APMG for ITIL®. We were the first company offering ITIL® accredited training in Ireland and today continue to be at the forefront of the development and delivery of accreditation programmes in Ireland. The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) is a de facto best practice approach for the provision of cost effective, high quality information technology (IT) services. ITIL® is a series of books (hence the term Library), which describes a measured process based approach to IT Service Management, presented in the context of the service lifecycle. Each book covers an aspect of the service lifecycle, providing comprehensive and consistent guidance for IT service management, promoting a qualitative approach towards achieving business goals through effective and efficient use of information systems.
Version 2 of ITIL® focused on the processes required to operate the IT infrastructure effectively. Version 3 of ITIL® (commonly referred to as ITIL® v3), released in March 2007, has expanded the scope of the guidance provided. ITIL® now includes guidance relating to the management of services across their lifecycle as well as definitions for the associated delivery processes. ITIL® v3 makes the link between IT service provision and business benefits clearer and stronger.
ITIL® seeks to ensure that IT services deliver value to the business by facilitating desired business outcomes while optimising the cost and risks associated with the service provision.
ESMI offers classroom, virtual and online courses, both publically and privately, in all ITIL® v3 programmes including the ITIL® v3 Foundation, ITIL® v3 Lifecycle Modules, ITIL® v3 Capability Modules, ITIL® v3 Foundation Bridge, ITIL® v3 Managers Bridge and the ITIL® v3 Managing across the Lifecycles Course. In addition ESMI offers half day and full day ITIL® v3 Awareness Sessions for both Management and IT staff.
